My Print on Demand Journey: How long it took me to make $5K in passive income on Society6
In 2021, I was able to make over $5000 through passive income from Society6. In this post, I am going to share my Society6 artist profit. I currently have 127 designs, 442 followers, 1294 items sold, and have generated $7,091.18 in earnings.
Year 1 – 2019
3 designs, 3 items sold, $16 earned
I posted my first artwork on society6 in 2019. I came across the site on a Facebook Ad. I was curious to see if I could really make passive income from my artwork. A couple of months later, I made one 18×24 poster sale that earned me $2. I was kind of discouraged and didn’t create any new work. For the entire year, I made $16 total.
Year 2 – 2020
34 designs, 283 items sold, $474.58 earned
In 2020, I started doing freelance work, so I had more time on my hands. I created 34 new pieces and sold 283 items and earned $474.58.
Year 3 – 2021
90 designs, 964 items sold, $6,221.34 earned
In 2021, I was able to reach over $1000. I stopped putting time into Instagram and I focused on creating quality work and SEO. I created 90 new pieces, sold 964 items, and earned $6,221.34. Learn how I was able to increase my print on demand earnings.
April 2022 marks two years that I’ve been consistently uploading to society6. From my experience, Society6 is a great form of passive income for artists. I also learned that it’s possible to generate passive income without obsessing over Instagram. I have generated traffic to my society6 from my blog and Pinterest. This year my goal is to continue building my portfolio on Society6 while starting the journey to monetize my blog and build an audience now that I have a solid foundation from my artwork.
